Dr. Alexander Zaks Believes Pain Isn’t Part of the Healing Process

Dr. Alexander Zak’s interest in pain management began early in life. He’s always focused on figuring out how to help patients with severe pain. He doesn’t believe patients should just grin and bear the pain. His undergraduate degree focused on psychology and biology. These majors aided his knowledge of the human body and how pain affects people. Dr Alexander Zaks continued his education at the Georgetown University School of Medicine.

It was during his post-graduate training, where Dr. A Zaks acquired additional understanding of pain management. During his medical and anesthesiology residencies, he treated patients in pain from chronic and acute medical conditions.

However, Alexander wasn’t satisfied with his medical knowledge he gained from those residencies. To help patients he knew he had to learn more about relieving and reducing painful symptoms. So, he completed a pain management fellowship at the University of Southern California Hospital Medical Center.

Dr. Alexander Zaks still wasn’t satisfied with his pain treatment knowledge or medical understanding.

Throughout his career, he’s continued to earn certifications and licensure like:

• Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, 1998
• State of California License # A54137, issued April 1995
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support 2008

Of course, Dr. Alexander Zaks knew to fully help his patients he must continue his medical education and lifelong learning through these memberships:

• American Society of Anesthesiologists
• American Medical Association
